Adult Office Skills Classes are Monday–Thursday 9:30am–1pm, year-round. Rotates through Word Office, Powerpoint, Excel, Quickbooks, resume writing, Internet (creating an email account, job search, apartment search). Call 973.835.1991 after 1pm, Monday-Thursday. Low-income students get subsidized. Mavis Beacon Typing Basic Computers (Entry Level) Designed for the beginner who wants to learn how to use a personal computer. The student will become familiar with the keyboard and mouse, working with files and folders, formatting a floppy, identifying parts of the desktop and how to navigate Windows. Keyboarding Fundamentals (Entry Level) Develop proper keyboarding skills, improve accuracy and speed, includes the basics of using the mouse. *Students will be introduced to Mavis Beacon, interactive typing which is developed for all skill levels. On entering the virtual classroom, you are placed in the right lesson for your skill level. From then on, your progress is monitored and encouraged every step of the way. Mavis makes learning to type fun and easy. Microsoft Word 2002 XP- Level I Become familiar with this popular software package. Practice document creation, editing and character formatting. Save and print documents. Use spell check, tabs, fonts, indents and bullets. Set margins, page breaks and create page numbers, envelopes and mailing labels. Microsoft Word 2002 XP- Level II If you need to write a business letter or do a large mailing, then this course if for you. Learn to create headers and footers, hanging indents borders, shading and tables, use sort, find and replace and do a mail merge. Microsoft Word 2002 XP- Level III Learn to work with long documents, use section and advanced page numbering, set up columns, create templates, create macros, and customize toolbars. Use clipart, word art, and drawing tools. Develop Fill – in forms. Microsoft Excel 2002 XP – Level I Excellent for business or home use. Participants learn how to manipulate worksheet data, format the content of a worksheet, create and prepare set-up, and print worksheets. Use auto sum, auto fill develop formulas and simple function to do calculations. Format text data, numbers and dates. Use page setup for margins; print repeating titles, headers and footers, orientation and scaling. Microsoft Excel 2002 XP – Level II Learn to hide rows and columns, create name ranges and protect data and files. Learn to sort, filter, data entry form, pivot tables and functions. Microsoft Excel 2002 XP – Level III Topics include linking and embedding objects to your documents, references cells on their worksheets, creating templates and Macros. Learn to use auditing and data validation tools. Develop lookup tables, Do “What-ifs” with the Goal Seeker, the Scenario Manager and Data Tables. PowerPoint 2002 XP Level I Do you have a presentation to give? In this course, discover how to create, modify, enhance and customize your presentation. Work with charts and linked and embedded objects. Enhance slide shows with ClipArt, Word Art and Drawings. Learn to print slides. PowerPoint 2002 XP Level II Students will work with slide outlines, create charts and tables, create organization charts, and add multimedia elements. Students also work with color schemes and templates, animate text and objects, link slides, prepare presentations, and save presentations in other formats. Introduction to the Internet/ Email This course gives the opportunity for the student to discover what the Internet is and show you how to navigate Word Wide Web of information. Find out about email. Each student will have access to a networked computer and there will be time for free net surfing. Gain a basic understanding of a Web Browser, search engines such as, Yahoo and Google and set up a free email. CompuLearning Center Location CompuLearning is located at 563 Ringwood Avene, Wanaque, NJ. The classroom is fully air conditioned and well-lighted. It is currently able to accommodate ten students.
